As a distinguished member of the Michigan Supreme Court, elected statewide as its first blind justice in November 2014. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Michigan and a JD holder from Northwestern University School of Law, Justice Bernstein has dedicated his career to disability rights. Prior to his judicial role, he led the public service division at The Sam Bernstein Law Firm in Farmington Hills, advocating for disability rights and setting national standards for accessibility and safety. A staunch supporter of education and public service, Justice Bernstein's landmark cases have profoundly impacted accessibility in stadiums, parks, public transportation, and road construction across the United States. Join us as he speaks about the necessity of a more accessible built environment, which not only aids those with disabilities but benefits all community members.

We Had A Wonderful Kick Off Event!

On May 15, 2024 we hosted the official event which kicked off the RAMP IT UP! campaign, serving Lansing and the surrounding areas.  This was held near the PLAY MICHIGAN! area within Louis F. Adado Riverfront Park at 201 E. Shiawassee Street, Lansing, MI 48933.

Our speakers were Mayor Andy Schor  and Tiara Yakini from the Department of Civil Rights. The Inclusion Award was presented to the team of PLAY MICHIGAN! and the weather was perfect.
